Mobile operators want new Costa Rican president to take back C-bandspectrum
Costa Rica’s newly elected president Rodrigo Chaves is facing pressure from mobile operators to take valuable mid-band spectrum back from the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE) Group.
Policy Traker interviewed to our CEO & Founder. Gerardo Mantilla of Artifex Consulting says that the outgoing government had been trying to reach a deal with ICE for over two years with little success.
“ICE is a very strong organisation within the government,” says Mantilla. “This means it’s not easy for the minister to obtain the spectrum. They have to negotiate with them.”
